The Test!

Wow,

Ask and you shall receive. So let me catch you up on whats been going on. I am going thru the hardest test of my life right now so far...

Part of my vision is to help homeless and impoverished people I know that, that's why I have a big heart. My heart is just naturally open, sometimes I don't think that is such a good thing. It hurts real bad when someone hurts your open heart no matter who they are. I have to realize that while following my vision. I told a friend once that I wanted to end homelessness, do you know the first thing she said was, "Freddie be careful because all people want to do is take take take take take". She said it so much it stuck, so I made a joke about it.

Fast forward about 3 years I have a co-worker who is down on his luck he needs a place to stay. Me thinking I can kill two birds with one stone I decided to offer a room in my home for a low rent rate. Its on the third floor across from the gym, no one hardly goes up there.. lol, the room is fully furnished T.V. and full bathroom. My point was to extend my home to someone in need and show them God's love. Either I did it wrong or this is the take take take take take part or something.

Father,

I know its a test I am going thru... grant me the strength and wisdom to en dour this test Father. Let Your light shine and You get the glory. I just need you to show me what to do. All I can say is Father I thank you. I know you are there you will never leave me nor forsake me, I know that and You know I am fully trusting in You to get me out (or him out however that goes). I know that I am young and have a lot to learn, a lot of growing to do. Sometimes it gets painful with all that growing. I just want to know how to best use this big wide open heart I have been blessed with, without it hurting so bad...

How do you cover your heart without hardening it?

Starting the Journey

Father,

Good morning I would like to start off by saying thank you for waking me up this morning with right mind and strength of limbs. What a blessing it is to think on your goodness.

Help me to lead someone to you. Let your light shine through me. Guide my feet in the path you will have for me and my life.

It is your will that we trust and lean on you, not our own understanding.

As I walk this path called life, I know you are there watching me. Why do I feel so alone, I mean I know you are there, the bible says you will never leave me nor forsake me and I believe that, but why oh why do I feel so alone.

I know I have to get past that, I can only go on the facts you have given me this far. Nehemiah 2 11-18 my vision, tells me to build the city because of the disarray. I have set off on the path you have for me... I need followers to help further your mission. That is my prayer to you today Father I know I can't do this alone. The only way is with others.

I am determined to do the task you have set before me. Not just do it, but do it with excellence as unto the Lord my father. Though I might stumble father please forgive me. Help me see the error of my ways and correct them so that I may move on and further do your work.

Father we need strength to endure the task set before us for the bettering of your Kingdom. Strength not to give up when the times get tough, knowing that is the time to lean on you, the time you will show the power of your might.

Father give us the knowledge to know how to handle every situation that comes our way for the good of the kingdom.

Amen

The Change

In historical terms, a legacy is something that is handed down from one period of time to another period of time. A historical legacy can be a positive thing or a negative thing. For example, the invention of the wheel (for carts, as a pottery wheel, as a grinding wheel to help turn grain into flour, and as an early water wheel) in Mesopotamia can be seen as something positive. The development of slavery was a negative legacy.
Sometimes countries or civilizations can leave a legacy. In Athens, in Ancient Greece, people voted on their leaders. They created an early form of democracy. Greece, and later, Ancient Rome voted for their leaders for many generations.
Some families pass objects and ideas down from generation to generation. These objects and ideas can also be called legacies. It may have to do with a person or many people. Individuals can leave a historical legacy. More than 2000 years ago the Greek Mathematician, Euclid of Alexandria, collected and wrote down ideas about geometry and measurement in a text called Elements. Students still use these ideas when they learn about mathematics.

So I was thinking how does this apply to me... Well on thing that stands out looking back on my life was prayer. It was the one thing we always went back to. I can remember my grandmother up late at night or early in the morning every night just praying when times were good and bad.

My grandmother must of had something because she did it often, but that was her legacy she passed down to us.

We have a chapel at work when times get hard and I need a moment I go in there and say a little prayer to God to let him know I am here and no matter what it looks like I know he got me (that's for me). Then I write in this prayer book they have. See the good thing about God is he loves you no matter what you do or who you are. God is pure love. He is always there waiting for you to come and talk to him.

Because this is called Branding a Legacy I thought I would use this space to write letters to God. Something like King David in the book of Psalms, but in my own way since it is my relationship and not King David's. I pray that everyone who reads this blog is inspired to open the lines of communication with God to have a stronger relationship with him then you did before. Anyone can do it and it is between you and God...

How to kill time?

Have you ever wanted something so bad you can taste it?

There is something out there I want so bad. I won't say what it is because I want you to think about what it is that you want. My thing in my opinion will solve all my problems if you can call what I have problems. I mean it gives me a career that goes with what I feel I should be doing in life. It solidify and takes care of my family all at the same time. I have worked it from every angle and am now at the point where I have to wait. I am not that big on waiting... I'm learning. I know this is right for my family I have prayed about it.

I know I should just wait and let it happen when it is suppose to, but I want it so bad I just want to jump all over it. Do anyone know any productive ways to kill the time?

Just Do It!

The reason I started this was because I am at the point where I am starting to really look to the future. I always knew it was out there I just didn't know how to get there successfully with all my dreams in tact and some major ones turning into reality. I know it takes planning, but when things don't go the way you planed, or you just flat out are too lazy and think things are going to do themselves you (I) do something like this.

1. It gets the words and expressions you have inside out.
2. It creates a dialogue (comments) about them.
3. It gives you (me) something to go back to almost like a public journal w/feedback.

I called this one Just Do It because that is exactly what I need to do!

I am one of those people who has a lot of ideas scattered all around the house on note pads and paper both in and out of the office. I named my blog Branding a Legacy because that is what I am doing. My first step is to take all the ideas I have all over the house and put it in one place. See its like pieces of the puzzle I think I have most of them now I need to start putting it all together. I got to have a strong foundation.

I know I want to help the Homeless I have this really great program called Coffey Bean of Hope that is set up to not only get them a place to stay, but will help them be productive citizens of the Globe. I know everyone can (not) be helped, but lets start with the ones that need and want the help and go from there.

I want to work with the Vets that is a special group of people. They not only fought for our Country they also hold the key to a sometimes forgotten part of history.

I also want to work with my dog Lucky in finding other dogs homes. My wife and I found him almost 5 years ago and he has brought so much joy to our life it is just ridiculous. "I never knew I could love an animal that much", even though I have the best dog in the world, I think other dogs can do the same for owners who are right for them.

Most of all I want to enjoy life. I find people interesting, it is funny how 2 people can see the same thing 2 totally different ways. That's why I wanted to do a blog. I don't mind sharing my ideas and opinions. I like to hear the opinion of others that is why I like to have all types of friends old, young, smart, not so smart, just everyone. I think that's because I am a talker and I need different type of people to clear my buffer.LOL. We all can learn alot from each other so feel free to share this is an open forum.

Remember Just Do It!
